TORONTO, Ont. - Hockey training camps are just around the corner - but some teammates have already started practicing together in the hopes of building good team chemistry.
One of the Toronto Maple Leafs young guns, however, said there is one way he thinks his team can band together off the ice, which will help them perform better on the ice.
Rookie forward Nazeem Kadri told the Fan 590's video game show
Got Game that playing video games has brought his teammates closer.
"Some of the ways that our team can kind [of] connect off the ice. So that's what championship teams have - guys gelling on ice and off ice. So hopefully NHL 11 will bring us closer together."
NHL 11 is the latest instalment of the very popular video game franchise - it is also Kadri's favourite game.
Last year, the Leafs were the youngest team in the league and this year they are not much older.
That means with a limited amount of veteran leadership - generating good chemistry amongst the younger players is imperative to the Leafs' success.
