March break activities: March 13-21

There are plenty of things to do around Toronto for March break. Below is a list:

CN Tower

Total tower tickets cost $25, which includes the look out, glass floor, sky pod, the "Height of Excellence" movie and "Himalamazon Motion Theatre Ride."

-Monday, March 15: Battle Strikers tournaments

-Tuesday, March 16: Meet and greet with Dora the Explorer, first come first serve. (10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.)

-Wednesday, March 17: Meet and greet with Spongebob Squarepants, first come first serve (10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.)

Ontario Science Centre

Activities include special March break programming, including power play, the science of bubbles, science magic, cosmic journeys and sound of science. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

At the Omnixmax Theatre, feature films include: "Grand Canyon Adventure," "Under The Sea and

Royal Ontario Museum

March 13-21: Extended hours from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The first 50 children admitted into the museum will get a free Bat T-shirt. Admission is $15 for children aged 4-14, ages 15 to 17 with a student card is $19. Half-priced admission after 4:30 p.m.

Black Creek Pioneer Village

Take part in indoor and outdoor activities, including a maple syrup festival, horse drawn wagon rides, and period dancing lessons. Admission - $10 for adults, teens and seniors, $7 dollars for children (5-14), children under four are free. Open daily 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Spring Fling at the Rogers Centre:

March 16-21: The annual indoor carnival is back with 20 rides, multiple games and a new reptilia exhibit. The exhibit will feature 26 exotica animal exhibits including pythons, young alligators, tortoises, iguanas, boas and rattlesnakes. Also new this year is a children's stage area that includes four on-stage shows.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., closes at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 21. Admission - $20 for ages two years and up. For more information, click here.

Erin Mills Town Centre

From March 15-19, the mall will be hosting various activities for children, such as reptile shows, camping 101 and making "project love kits" for children in Haiti. Proceeds from the daily events will be donated to the Credit Valley Hospital Foundation. Click here for a list of activities.

Skating

Indoor leisure skating programs are free for all ages. But, note that all outdoor rinks are closed for the season. For more information, click here.

Swimming

Several indoor pools will be offering special March Break swim programs across the city. For more information, click here.

March Break camps

Children can enjoy specialty activities such as dance, visual arts, gymnastics, hockey, or youth leadership. For program information, click here.

Drop-in programs

Many community centres will be offering free or low-cost drop-in programs. For a list of community centres call 311.

Skiing and Snowboarding:

March break hours for Earl Bales and Centennial Ski and Snowboard Centres are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, click here.

Riverdale Farm:

The farm's scenic three hectares houses many animals, such as cows, horses, donkeys, sheep and goats. The meeting house has drop-in craft activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and farmer demonstrations at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., admission is free.

Preview of spring flower shows:

Centennial Park Conservatory (151 Elmcrest Rd.) and Allan Gardens Conservatory (19 Horticultural Ave.), open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, call Centennial Park Conservatory at 416-394-8543 and Allan Gardens Conservatory at 416-392-7288.
