Obama says he deserves re-election despite economic troubles

680News staff Feb 05, 2012 21:28:32 PM
American President Barack Obama says despite the nation's economic troubles, he feels he deserves re-election to finish what he has started.

Obama said his administration is creating more than 250,000 jobs a month, the fastest pace since 2005 and a drastic reversal from the 750,000 jobs the economy was losing three years ago.

He adds that American manufacturing still needs a boost and that "we have got to make sure we are pushing American energy, not just oil and gas, but clean energy."

Obama also said that the country needs to return to "old-fashioned American values", enabling "everyone (to get) a fair shake."

Three years ago, Obama predicted if the economy had not turned around by this time his presidency would likely be a one-term deal.
