Two Cambridge firefighters are being hailed as heroes after they rescued a drowning man while they were on vacation in Mexico.
John McCalmont and Mike Pauze were swimming in the Pacific Ocean near their resort when a strong tide sucked another tourist underwater.
The pair managed to haul the motionless man back to the beach where he started coughing up water before they could administer CPR.
The man spent two days in hospital before returning to the resort.
