TORONTO, Ont. - Over 500 owners of 2003-2007 Lexus LX 470s in Canada will have to get their steering fixed because of a problem that could cause the steering wheel to lock if the driver hits a deep pothole.
Lexus Canada said it is not aware of any accidents related to this condition.
Owners will be advised to bring their vehicles to their local dealer to have the snap ring fixed at no charge.
Also, Toyota Canada has recalled 4,200 2000-2004 Avalons because of a different potential problem with the steering.
A tiny crack could develop in the steering lock bar which could lead to it breaking.
In both cases, recall notices will be issued in August and dealers will offer repairs for free.
