A concerned member Chapel Island First Nation citizen is concerned about a hydraulic fracturing or "fracking" project in the Mi'kmaq territory.
Annie Mae Pictou Aquash would be 66 years old by now. She was a strong Mi'kmaq woman who was involved with the American Indian Movement, and was murdered in the winter of 1975. Film-Maker Cathy Martin has been commission by Nova Scotia's lieutenant Governor as a speaker, and Martin will be highlighting Annie Mae in her talk about strong Mi'kmaq women.
