Toronto - Garbage pickup resumed Tuesday in Toronto for the first time in six weeks.

Lines of garbage bags and garbage containers were piled along streets in the Dundas Street and Greenwood Avenue area for the curbside pickup.

For the next two garbage pickups, residents can put out as much garbage as they want without a penalty.

One resident in the area said her garbage was stored in her backyard shed. "It just got to that point where if we didn't get rid of it today, we probably would have had to go drop it off," she said.

Meanwhile, city-run splashpads and daycares re-opened Tuesday.
