OPP officers were busy this long weekend keeping our roads safe.
During the Labour Day weekend blitz, many drivers were caught breaking the rules.
Fifty-six were charged with speeding, three for stunt driving, 19 drivers had no insurance, 64 were not wearing seatbelts and 12 drivers were caught talking on cell phones.
That is not all, police had some unbelievable stories about motorists.
One officer pulled over a vehicle on Hwy. 400. The driver handed over a temporary licence that was folded up and when the officer unfolded the paper marijuana was found inside.
The vehicle was then searched and several charges were laid.
Another driver was caught with a suspended licence, no insurance, no licence plates and was driving a car already deemed unsafe by MTO.
