NEWMARKET, Ont. - A fire has damaged several units in a strip mall in Newmarket, Ont.

The blaze started early Thursday morning inside a dry cleaning shop at Leslie Street and Davis Drive.

The flames shot through the roof area of the strip mall and spread to all six units.

Police said the steel roof acted as an oven, allowing the flames to grow and spread, while making the fire difficult to get at.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire.

No injuries were reported.
