Police release composite sketch of sexual assault suspect

Kevin Misener Jul 28, 2010 18:08:22 PM

Toronto Police released a composite sketch, Wednesday, of a man they believe drugged and sexually assaulted a 31-year-old woman in a bar in Little Italy two months ago.

"We've exhausted other leads and we're looking for the assistance of the public to see if anyone recognizes this person," Det. Cst. Lori Kranenburg told 680News.

She added the victim remembers going with a friend to the bar near College and Bathurst streets on April 11, where she met a man who called himself "Mario," beyond that, it is a blank.

"The problem with drug-facilitated sexual assaults is the victim has very little memory of what happens," said Kranenburg.

Investigators are hoping to make a quick arrest to lessen the risk of another woman being assaulted.

"It's always a concern that someone will reoffend," Kranenburg said.

"That's why we want to identify this individual," she continued.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7474, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com or text TOR and message to CRIMES (274637).
