Man and woman ejected from vehicle on the 401

Two people are in hospital in critical condition following a vehicle rollover Saturday evening on the 401 near Markham road.

Witnesses told Global News that the vehicle was speeding in the westbound lanes when it flipped over the guardrail and hit a tree. A man and a woman were ejected from the car.

A third person suffered non life threatening injuries.

OPP sergeant Brad Muir told Global that no one involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt.

The westbound lanes of the 401 near Markham road will be closed until the investigation is complete. Police estimate they will be reopened early Sunday morning.
