Fatal hit-and-run closes all lanes of EB QEW at Dorval

OAKVILLE, Ont. - All eastbound lanes on the Queen Elizabeth Way at Dorval Drive shut down, Friday, after a fatal hit-and-run.

The OPP told 680News a female pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle, which police are on the hunt for.

Cst. Graham Williamson said "[cops] are seeking witnesses or any information regarding the vehicle."

Willamson said traffic remained at a standstill as officers investigated.

"Toronto-bound QEW is totally blocked at Dorval. All traffic is exiting at Dorval Drive - getting back on at Trafalagar, it looks like. Westbound - that'd be Niagara-bound traffic - is slowed because of the visual distraction," he explained.

The OPP had no estimate on when lanes would reopen.
