TORONTO, Ont. - Police responding to a noise complaint in an east-end Toronto park seized a loaded fully automatic pistol, called a machine pistol.
Officers were called to a park Thursday afternoon after residents complained about a group of men drinking and making noise.
When they approached and questioned the men, the officers became suspicious and searched them.
Staff Sgt. Craig Young says they found a Tech 9 machine pistol, loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition, being concealed by one man.
Wariskhan Pathan, 18, of Toronto, was charged with several firearms offences, as well as cocaine possession, possession of stolen property and failure to comply with a recognizance.
Pathan was due in court Friday.
