Police charge Ont. man in death of woman found dead in burning home

The Canadian Press Mar 09, 2010 21:08:04 PM
York region police have charged a Gravenhurst, Ont., man with second-degree murder in connection with a woman found dead in a burning home in Whitchurch-Stouffville, north of Toronto.

On Sunday morning, firefighters found a 46-year-old woman inside the home without vital signs. She was pronounced dead at hospital.

They also found a man outside the home. Paramedics took him to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The woman has been identified as Whitchurch-Stouffville resident Marion Deacon.

Police say an autopsy determined the cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries to the head.

Her boyfriend, Paul Kenyon, 43, is charged with second-degree murder. He is expected to remain in hospital for several more days.
