TORONTO, Ont. - Students will take over Queen's Park, starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, to call on all political parties to commit to making college and university more affordable by reducing tuition fees.
Those taking part in the rally will encircle Queen's Park with caution tape and presenting their ballots, showing what priorities students and their families will be voting for in the provincial election.
The action is part of the province-wide "Take It Over" campaign.
Similar actions will take place at financial aid offices on campuses across the province.
On Monday, Ontario premier Dalton McGuinty announced that, if elected, the Liberal's will promise a 30 per cent grant for undergraduate tuition fees.
Tuesday is the first day back of regular scheduled classes for most schools in Ontario.
