Earlier this year, the board's director of education, Chris Spence, announced a campaign called "positive spaces," which would allow for a staff member in each school to have an open dialogue with students about the issues of gender and sexuality.
"We are very proud to be a leader when it comes to promoting equity and inclusion for all," Spence said. "We believe that equity of opportunity and equity of access to our programs, services, and resources are critical to the achievement of successful outcomes for all those whom we serve, and for those who serve our school system."
