Another pedestrian has been struck and killed in the GTA, this time at Broadview and Danforth avenues.

Police said the victim was a 57-year-old man of Chinese descent.

The man, who was on crutches at the time, was crossing the street outside a Pizza Pizza shop Friday, at about 11:30 a.m., when he was hit by a dump truck.

The man was a student at the City Adult Learning Centre.

"It is horrible, there's no words to describe it," one of his classmates said.

Sgt. Tim Burrows of Toronto police's Traffic Services said he is the 11th pedestrian fatality in 11 days.

At this point, police believe the victim did have the right of way, and was hit by a truck making a right-hand turn.

The driver of the dump truck pulled over and cooperated with police.

Due to the police investigation, streetcar service was impacted, but full service has now resumed.
