TORONTO, Ont. - A Toronto man is suing the Santa Claus Parade for $500,000.
He claimed that he was partially blinded when a celebrity clown threw a frozen miniature candy bar into the crowd that struck him in the eye.
The man told the Toronto Star that he suffers from blurred vision and has developed Bell's palsy as a result.
The incident took place at the 2008 parade.
The lawsuit named the unidentified clown, the parade corporation and members of the board.
The Toronto Star also reported that the man's lawyer has mentioned that parade organizers have expressed an interest in negotiating a settlement.
