Man arrested after armed robbery of Brinks truck in Brampton, another suspect still at large

Peel police have one suspect in custody in connection with Wednesday night's armed robbery of a Brinks truck in Brampton.

Police are looking for a second man.

Two guards were making a cash delivery at the CIBC branch on North Park Drive, near Dixie Road and Bovaird Drive, just after 9:30 p.m., when they were confronted by two armed men.

The two suspects stole a large quantity of cash, but a quick-thinking third guard, who was waiting in the Brinks truck, managed to disable the suspect's stolen getaway car.

The two suspects fled on foot, and one got away.

No shots were fired.

Peel police told 680news that the stolen items have been recovered.
