680News staff Dec 24, 2009 11:44:23 AM
It's one of the busiest travel days of the entire year, Christmas Eve, as people head home for the holidays or are just getting out of town.

As for last-minute Christmas shopping, stores will start shutting down by mid-afternoon, while the malls will close at 6 p.m.

The LCBO and beer stores are open until 6 p.m., but will be closed on Boxing Day.

GO Transit and the TTC shift to holiday schedules starting on December 25.

All malls are closed on Christmas Day, except for Pacific Mall.

Government offices, banks, libraries are open Thursday, but will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and on Monday.
