Those thinking of stockpiling TTC tokens due to a looming fair hike better think again
The TTC is worried about running out of tokens and has placed limits on how many can be bought.
Ticket collectors will only sell ten tokens at a time and vending machines will only sell single tokens.
In light of a recent announcement about the possibility of a new year fare hike the limitations are to prevent hoarding that would leave the system short on tokens, said TTC spokesman Brad Ross.
Commissioners will decide on November 17th whether to raise the token price by 25 cents starting January 3rd.
