Tonight is the Canadian Opera Company's Diamond Anniversary concert, as the company continues to celebrate sixty years.

The COC says the fall run of Madama Butterfly and the Nightingale and Other Short Fables was a major success.

Twenty-two of the twenty-four performances playing to one hundred percent capacity with an attendance of more than 49,000.

It continues a sustained series of record attendance numbers for the COC, which has average at least 99 percent since the opening of the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in 2006.

The COC's Diamond Anniversary season continues in January with Bizet's popular Carmen, opening
January 27th and running for 12 performances.
