Little trial put on hold until Monday
Newmarket, Ont. - The double murder trial of Christopher Little came to a temporary halt, Friday, over some legal issues the jury was not allowed to hear.
Early Friday morning, Justice Michelle Fuerst told the six-man six-woman jury at the Newmarket courthouse they were not needed until Monday. That is when the Crown will continue their cross examination of the accused.
Little has already testified for two days.
The 35-year-old is charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of his wife Julie Crocker and Paula Menendez, the estranged wife of Toronto sportscaster Rick Ralph.
Crocker was in a relationship with Ralph at the time of her death.
According to the judge, the trial is moving along quicker than anticipated and the jury could begin its deliberations sometime this month.
Justice Fuerst had originally predicted the Crown and defence lawyers would wrap up their arguments in mid-December.
