Truck drivers in training protest DriveTest strike
Toronto - The 11-week long DriveTest examiners' strike means tough times for those would-be truck drivers.
About two dozen drivers-in-training gathered at Queen's Park Tuesday morning, calling for an end to the dispute that's costing them with each passing day.
Truckers in training said they have all the lessons they need, but without a licence, they're stuck in park.
Drivers said they need to be tested right after training or they could get rusty behind the wheel.
Brian said he hasn't been behind the wheel of truck in two months, and said that when it comes time for testing, "I'm not going to be as good as I was when I was training."
Other drivers said they want the power shifted away from DriveTest centres.
