Disney taking Baby Einstein products back for a refund
If your DVD shelf has a few copies of Baby Einstein, Disney has announced you can return them for a refund in the U.S.
According to Baby Einstein, Canadians can get a refund only within 60 days of their purchase and with a receipt.
When Baby Einstein first came out it was marketed as the video that could turn toddlers into pint-sized brainiacs.
Editor-in-Chief of Today's Parent magazine Caroline Connel tells it doesn't offer much.
"Kids love them - little kids. I think parents are often surprised at how hokey they are, for lack of a better word. We're talking sock puppets and little toys that spin around so the production values are not high.
Parents and education groups argued Disney's claims about Baby Einstien went against scientific research - that kids under two shouldn't be watching TV.
Anyone who bought the DVDs and music albums between June 2004 and September 2009 in the U.S. can get a refund or exchange from Disney by mailing them back to the company.
There is a limit of four returns per household.
More information for the U.S. refund can be found on the Baby Einstein website.
