The drop-off sites are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Residents will be able to deliver their garbage to the entrance gate, where they can load it into a city truck, and then staff will pile the bags.
Yard waste, grass, recyclable materials, loose garbage and hazardous or liquid waste will not be accepted. All garbage will have to be bagged and securely tied.
Residents have been advised to place all garbage in the fenced area only. The sites have 24-hour security and are monitored by city staff.
Residents have also been asked not to throw garbage onto streets, into laneways or parks, and to not leave waste in or around the city's litter bins, since they will not be emptied during the strike.
