City's first scramble intersection to be launched Thursday
Toronto, Ont. - Things are about to get a bit confusing for pedestrians in downtown Toronto, as the city's first scramble intersection will be launched at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
The traffic signals at Yonge and Dundas streets will been updated, so that on a red light all vehicles will stop and pedestrians will walk across the street in all directions, including diagonally across the intersection.
The scramble intersection is used in many cities, including Tokyo.
Toronto police and city officials will be on-hand for the changeover to help educate pedestrians and drivers and keep everyone safe.
