I’m Carl Hanstke, morning reporter. During my time with the radio station I have been the “live on scene” voice for many major stories including the September 11 terrorist attack in New York, the space-shuttle crash in Texas, Hurricane Ivan’s destructive path through Florida and locally, the deadly hostage-taking incident outside Union Station.
The youngest of five children, I inherited my father’s love of hard work and a good joke.
Waking up at 3:30 a.m. for work each day does not allow one much time for hobbies, but I still manage to play baseball and hockey and get to the gym the odd time. I also enjoy travelling and hanging out in my backyard with family, friends and neighbours.
