I started here in Toronto in 1969 at what was then called "career academy."
One of my instructors was Bud Binny, who worked at CHFI.
From Toronto, I went north to start my life in radio, landing in Kirkland
Lake. I then got a job even further north as a TV anchor in Timmins. From there,
I started to move back south and got as far as North Bay where I met my
wife.
We then moved to Montreal, where I worked in radio and television, and I
eventually became the news director of the radio division. After the birth of
our two children, the family shifted to Ottawa. We raised our children in the
nation's capital while I spent turns as morning news anchor, program director
and news director.
In late 1999, I returned to CFTR, now 680News, where I thoroughly enjoy
co-anchoring the "afternoon drive" slot with Marlane Oliver.
Our children remain in Ottawa. We have four wonderful grandchildren. The next
chapter remains to be written.
