"I admit it, I'm a news junkie", says 680News anchor, Brian Fysher. "My wife
often tells people that before we can even book a vacation, we have to check to
see that the hotel has CNN!"
The Chatham, Ontario-born Fysher, who began working as an announcer more than
30 years ago when he was still in high school, has since worked at a number of
stations across Ontario.
"Along the way, I have been fortunate enough to do news, sports, host a talk
show and handle regional reporting for Global Television," says Fysher. "I also
spent nearly 20 years as news director in Hamilton and was a part-time
instructor in the broadcast journalism program at Mohawk College. I also served
two terms as chairman of the college's broadcast journalism advisory
committee."
"Let me ask you, how many people still get excited about going into work
after 30 years in the business? As we say here at 680News...the news is always
changing and that's what makes it interesting and exciting, not only for you the
listener, but for those of us on this side of the microphone as well."
