"If you love your work, you'll never work a day in your life!" I consider
myself to be one of the most fortunate people on earth, to be among those who
found the work they truly love -- telling stories on the radio and public
speaking to live audiences.
I have been professionally fulfilled, personally enriched and broadly
educated by the experience. I've also had the rare opportunity to be associated
with two of the country's biggest and best news radio stations.
Prior to joining 680News in 1999, I spent 16 years at CFRB as host of daily
radio shows interviewing newsmakers from all walks of life, anchoring political
conventions, covering elections and travelling the world to some of the most
significant and historic events of our time, including Saudi Arabia for the Gulf
War and to Berlin for the fall of the wall.
Along the way, I've met, observed and learned from more than 10,000 people
I've interviewed on-air including every living prime minister and numerous
provincial premiers and business leaders. I remain happy to pass the insights
and perspectives on to you through the daily reporting and interpretation of
current news and events that shape the world in which we live.
All work and no play or charitable contribution however does not make for a
balanced life. We spend as much time as possible at our family cottage on
Georgian Bay, where writing, woodworking, golfing, fishing, snowmobile and
family cooking take over as priorities. I also take great pleasure and pride to
sit as a board member of "operation springboard" -- helping to raise hundreds of
thousands of dollars through the annual "John Stall Golf Marathon."
