Curtis was born and raised in Peace River, North of Edmonton. He played many sports over the years such as hockey, baseball and football...he enjoyed talking a lot as well, announcing hockey games while playing or watching them. That's when he decided to give broadcasting a try.
After two years, he earned a broadcast diploma from Mount Royal College (University now). During his time in college Curtis did play by play and color for the Calgary Royals which you can watch on Youtube. To get a kickstart in the industry, he went back to Peace River to work at the local radio station. He started as the summer fun cruiser guy and later worked in the newsroom as an anchor and reporter.
After his time in the North, he decided to return to Calgary and join the 660News team where he has been ever since. During his spare time Curtis loves to play hockey, slow pitch, hit the gym and watch sports.
