Drake, City and Colour, Nickelback, and Hedley among Juno nomination leaders

The 2012 Juno Award nominations have been announced.

Six Canadian acts are this years top nominees including Drake, City and Colour, Dan Mangan, Nickelback, Hedley and Feist.

Nickelback and Drake are both up for album of the year.

Headly, City and Colour and Nickelback are all up for single of the year.

DJ Deadmau5 is up for three nominations and told 680News he is thrilled about receiving nods for Canada's top music award.

"To think that you're competing with the top, top top top of the top. Not the best dance acts, not the best electronic guys but the best of the best."

Other nominees include Alyssa Reid, Micheal Buble, Justin Beiber and Jim Cuddy.

Blue Rodeo will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

William Shatner will host the event which takes place in April 1 in Ottawa.
