TORONTO - A touring production of "Romeo and Juliet" and the return of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" head up the National Ballet of Canada's 2012/13 season.

The production of "Romeo and Juliet" by Alexei Ratmansky will run at Ottawa's National Arts Centre from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, 2013, and Toronto's Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts from March 12 to 17, 2013 before going on the road to London, England in April 2013.

It will mark the first time in more than 20 years that the National Ballet has staged a production in London.

"Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Christopher Wheeldon, a co-production with England's Royal Ballet, returns to Toronto to open the National Ballet's fall season, Nov. 10 to 25.

Other upcoming shows include the company premiere of John Neumeier's "Nijinsky" from March 1 to 7, 2013, and an all-Canadian mixed program of "The Four Seasons" and "Emergence" from March 20 to 24, 2013.

In the summer of 2013, a full-length version of Davide Bombana's "Carmen" will be staged June 5 to 16, and a mixed program of "Pur ti Miro, No. 24," "The Man in Black" and "Theme and Variations" runs June 19 to 23.
