GUELPH, Ont. - A construction company in Guelph, Ont. is laying off over 80 employees.
Hitachi Construction Truck Manufacturing says it is laying off workers due to reduced demands for its dump trucks.
The company says the workforce will be reduced by 20 per cent at the Woodlawn Road plant, leaving workers with only the day shift.
The afternoon shift will be eliminated in May.
Last year, Hitachi laid off 58 workers.
