TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (11,462.06 down 23.26 points):

The Westaim Corp. (TSX:WED). Up two cents, or 3.7 per cent, to 56 cents on 7,373,952 shares.

iShares S&P/TSX 60 Index Fund (TSX:XIU). Down five cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $16.36 on 3,907,478 shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Down seven cents, or 0.52 per cent, to $13.38 on 3,787,640 shares.

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Down 61 cents, or 2.12 per cent, to $28.14 on 3,498,465 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,505.14 down 7.96 points):

Poynt Corp. (TSXV:PYN). Up 1.5 cents, or 10 per cent, to 16.5 cents on 6,200,914 shares.

Anglo Canadian Oil Corp. (TSXV:ACG). Down 3.5 cents, or 38.89 per cent, to 5.5 cents on 2,683,073 shares.

Cap-Ex Ventures Ltd. (TSXV:CEV). Down nine cents, or 7.89 per cent, to $1.05 on 2,178,040 shares.

Pacific Paradym Energy Inc. (TSXV:PPE). Up half a cent, or 8.33 per cent, to 6.5 cents on 2,138,300 shares.

UNDATED — The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan has decided to keep its stake in the company that owns the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team after an eight-month review. Teachers' launched a review of its ownership stake in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment in March after it received inquiries from possible buyers.

TORONTO — Shareholders of metals royalty company Lumina Royalty Corp. have approved a takeover by gold-focused royalty company Franco-Nevada Corp. (TSX:FNV) for US$60 million in common shares and $6 million worth of warrants. The companies said Thursday the approval was won in an almost unanimous vote at a special meeting of shareholders.

CALGARY — Bellamont Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:BMX.A) says it has found a new oil pool in the Montney play in northwestern Alberta near Grimshaw, where the junior oil and gas producer has its core holdings. The Calgary-based company says the new discovery has the potential of being similar in size and scope as the Triassic D pool where Bellamont is currently producing the equivalent of 535 barrels per day of oil with some gas.
