UNDATED — The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan has decided to keep its stake in the company that owns the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team after an eight-month review. Teachers' launched a review of its ownership stake in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment in March after it received inquiries from possible buyers.
TORONTO — Shareholders of metals royalty company Lumina Royalty Corp. have approved a takeover by gold-focused royalty company Franco-Nevada Corp. (TSX:FNV) for US$60 million in common shares and $6 million worth of warrants. The companies said Thursday the approval was won in an almost unanimous vote at a special meeting of shareholders.
CALGARY — Bellamont Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:BMX.A) says it has found a new oil pool in the Montney play in northwestern Alberta near Grimshaw, where the junior oil and gas producer has its core holdings. The Calgary-based company says the new discovery has the potential of being similar in size and scope as the Triassic D pool where Bellamont is currently producing the equivalent of 535 barrels per day of oil with some gas.
