About Kevin

Kevin joined the CityNews 680 team in 1998 and started out as an news anchor and editor before shifting to reporting full-time. He covers a wide variety of assignments from Queen’s Park and Toronto City Hall but especially enjoys the challenge of breaking news. “Racing to a scene, interviewing newsmakers and quickly getting accurate information to our listeners is our top responsibility, but the adrenaline rush is a bonus.” Some of Kevin’s biggest assignments have included covering a dramatic and deadly hostage taking outside Union Station, Rob Ford’s turbulent term as Toronto Mayor, the heroic rescue of a man who set himself on fire at Queen’s Park, the Yonge Street van attack and the joy of fans after the Raptors NBA Championship. Kevin also spent 11 days in New York City reporting in the days after the 9/11 attacks in 2001. A proud graduate of Humber College, Kevin has returned numerous times to speak with broadcasting students. He has also coached journalism and communications students from Ryerson and York Universities, Seneca, Mohawk and Fanshawe Colleges. “The news and media landscape is in a major state of change and it’s a privilege to be able to speak with young people willing to make this industry their career”. In his spare time Kevin loves to cycle, kayak and visit with family from New Brunswick to British Columbia.
