A self-confessed news junkie, Richard has had a love of current events for as long as he can remember.

Born and raised in Toronto, he grew up watching the news and reading the paper while the other kids were watching cartoons and reading comic books.

His fascination with radio started early as well. Some of his fondest memories of childhood include evenings and late nights spent scanning the dial listening to the stations of the time; including CFTR and later 680News. "I always knew what I wanted to be" he says, "I wanted to be a news anchor."

Richard attended Seneca College in Toronto where he graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism. He joined 680News in the summer of 2007. You can catch him on the air doing traffic and anchoring overnight. "It's amazing how much news can break in the wee hours of the morning" he says, "You would be surprised how many times I get to say my favorite line, THIS JUST IN!"

Richard loves getting to spend time alongside fellow nighthawks and early-risers. "With so many of us getting up earlier and earlier and getting to bed later and later, the need for a 24-hour live radio station has never been greater."

When he is not on the air, Richard enjoys watching his favorite team, the Toronto Blue Jays, play. He also loves spending time with family and enjoying a pint or two with friends. He credits his success to the love and dedication of his family especially his mother, who let him hog the remote and watch news for hours at a time!

Richard is thrilled to be a part of the number one station in the country and feels very fortunate to get to live out his dream every day.
