‘For sale’ sign outside Rob Ford’s house a mystery

By Roger Petersen and Dilshad Burman

The site of many media scrums and even the occasional scuffle four years ago, the front lawn of the late former mayor Rob Ford’s house is now a much quieter scene — except for a strange looking ‘for sale’ sign that appeared some time on or before Tuesday.

The sign that reads “Rob Ford’s house for sale” seems somewhat crudely made and lists no realtor – seemingly signifying a private sale.

The situation takes an even more curious turn with the listed phone number going to a voicemail box that says it belongs to Rob Ford’s widow Renata — who filed a $16.5 million lawsuit against Doug Ford on Friday.

CityNews was unable to confirm if the voice on the phone was in fact Renata Ford, but a search for the number reveals it is connected to a Z Farah at 320 Dixon Road. The plot continues to thicken, with that building being at the centre of a 2013 police investigation called Project Traveller, which delved into gang murders

One of those charged in the investigation, who later had charges dropped, was Mohammed Farah – the man who allegedly tried to broker the deal for the now infamous Rob Ford crack video. CityNews reached out to Farah but did not hear back at the time of publishing.

Renata Ford’s lawyer Don Jack told CityNews he had nothing to do with any potential sale of the house and would not confirm if the ‘for sale’ sign is legitimate. Doug Ford’s campaign office also had no comment.

Zdravko Gagro, a neighbour to Renata Ford says he hasn’t seen her or her children at the house for some time.

Aside from some repairs and cleaning of the house a few months ago, he says there hasn’t been much activity there aside from the ‘for sale’ sign showing up.
