Woman, 21, identified as Annex murder victim

By News Staff

Toronto police have identified a 21-year-old woman who was murdered in the Annex on Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to the area of Kendal Avenue and Spadina Road just after 4:30 p.m. following reports of gunshots.

Police say Abbegail Elliott of Toronto was found inside an apartment suffering from obvious signs of trauma. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators believed Elliott was targeted and that the attack may be linked to another incident at the same apartment building on Monday where shots were fired at the building.

There is still no suspect description but two men were reportedly seen running from the building. Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
