Police release video of man wanted in Queen West assault

Toronto police have released video of a suspect wanted in connection with an assault on Queen West.

Police say a 42-year-old woman was violently struck by a man as she was crossing the street in the Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue area around 9 a.m. on May 17.

The woman was knocked to the ground and several people came to her aid. The suspect fled northbound on Spadina Avenue and then east on Bulwer Street.

The man is described as five-feet-six-inches tall, between 20 to 30 years old with a medium build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with small orange or red writing on the chest as well as five white stripes on the left wrist area, dark coloured pants and dark shoes. A white t-shirt was hanging out of the bottom of the sweatshirt.
