St. Clair West building evacuated after hydro vault fire

A building in Toronto’s west end was evacuated after a hydro vault fire on Saturday morning.

The electrical fire happened around 8 a.m. on St. Clair Avenue West, just west of Bathurst Street.

A building was evacuated due to carbon monoxide in the smoke.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control.

There is no streetcar service in the area. Shuttle buses are running in their place.

Correction: This is a corrected story. An original version incorrectly stated the fire was east of Bathurst
