Police have issued a warrant for a man wanted in connection with an attempted murder investigation and released photos of the suspect.
Police say the suspect entered a hair salon on Saturday at around 3:15 p.m. in the Jane Street and Marshlynn Avenue area.
He then approached a patron seated in the salon and allegedly stabbed him multiple times. Police say the victim tried to escape the attack but the suspect continued swinging the knife at him until other patrons intervened.
The suspect fled the scene and was last seen running across Marshlynn Avenue and thereafter, turned south into an alleyway just east of Jane Street.
Police have identified the suspect as 51-year-old Barrington Brooks and say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
He is described as five-feet-ten-inches with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark-blue heavy winter coat, dark-coloured jeans and a black toque.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
