It was a slower-than-normal drive in the GTA on Monday due to either fog, freezing rain, or both — depending on where you live.
Freezing rain warnings were in effect for areas like Newmarket, Uxbridge, Innisfil, Caledon, and Barrie for much of the morning and early afternoon. They were lifted around 1:30 p.m.
Earlier in the day, Environment Canada said the affected areas could see freezing rain throughout the day. But much of the precipitation is now expected in the form of rain as temperatures hover above the freezing mark.
The national weather agency has issued a special weather statement for Barrie and Orillia, and calling for 15-25 millimetres of rain for the area by Monday night.
A fog advisory was also in effect for Toronto and the GTA for most of the morning rush — it was lifted shortly after 9 a.m.
