Markham man charged in his father’s death

A Markham man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of his father on Monday.
York regional police were called to a residence in the Bayview Avenue and Hwy. 407 area at around 4:30 a.m. for reports of an injured person.
When officers arrived on scene they found a man unconscious and not breathing. Police say attempts were made to resuscitate him via CPR but the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.
The victim is a 49-year-old man from Markham and the accused is his 24-year-old son. Police say they are not identifying them in order to protect the identities of additional children and witnesses.
