Police investigate reports of lasers being pointed at aircraft

Toronto police warning the public about the potential consequences of shining lasers at airplanes
after receiving several reports from two Etobicoke parks.

Police searched both Lanyard Park and Beaumonde Heights Park in the areas of Finch Avenue West and Islington Avenue following reports from Pearson airport of lasers being pointed into the cockpits of planes during landing and take-off.

The search failed to turn up any offenders.

Police are reminding you can be fined up to $100,000 and sentenced up to five years in jail if you’re caught pointing a laser at an aircraft.
