Victim in brazen Weston Road stabbing identified

By News Staff

Police have identified the victim stabbed in a brazen attack in parking lot in Toronto’s west end on Tuesday and issued an arrest warrant for a person of interest.

David Blacquiere, 54, of Angus, Ont., was stabbed in the chest multiple times near Weston Road and King Street, north of Lawrence Avenue West around 12:30 p.m.

He was taken to Sunnybrook hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the suspect and the victim became involved in two altercations, one when the victim was inside his car and the second just steps outside of his vehicle, where he was stabbed.

Homicide investigators have issued an arrest warrant for 24-year-old Demetrius McFarquhar, who is wanted for accessory after the fact to murder and attempting to obstruct justice.

Investigators say McFarquhar is not the one who did the stabbing but assisted the primary suspect with fleeing the scene of the crime and a secondary crime scene at an apartment just north of where the victim was stabbed.

Police say the suspect wanted is described as a black man in his mid-20s to early 30s, approximately six feet tall with a medium build.
