A downtown campus at the University of Toronto had to be evacuated following reports of a suspicious object.

Emergency personnel were called to the area of Spadina Avenue and Harbord Street just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

A brief statement posted on the University of Toronto website says both Wilson Hall and Wetmore Hall at the St. George downtown campus were evacuated.

Police say after a thorough investigation, no explosive device was found and everyone was allowed back into the residence almost two hours later.

From the article it appears that you should be saying “Two residences at the downtown campus of the University of Toronto had to be evacuated….”. The article does not support the notion that the entire campus was evacuated. Please use the language responsibly!
