Man charged after allegedly befriending families to sexually assault children

Toronto police have arrested a 40-year-old man in a sexual assault investigation and they’re concerned there could be more victims.

According to police, on two separate instances a man befriended a family, gained their trust, and began acting in a caregiver capacity to the children. He then allegedly began to sexually assault the children.

The first instance allegedly began in May 2012 and lasted until September 2014. The second instance allegedly began in September 2015 and ended last month.

Police said he used his position of trust to sexually assault the children over a period of time.

Kevin Marsh was arrested on Wednesday by officers from the Child and Youth Advocacy Centre.

He’s facing 41 charges, including several counts of sexual assault.

Police have released a photo of the suspect and are asking any other potential victims to contact investigators at 416-808-2922.
