Canada-wide arrest warrant issued for Leslieville murder suspect

Police have issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for a 23-year-old Toronto man wanted in connection with a murder in Leslieville last year.

Officers said on the evening of March 23, 2016, Ceyon Carrington, 29, was shot at an industrial building on Carlaw Avenue, near Dundas Street East.

A passerby gave Carrington first aid until paramedics arrived to take him to hospital, but he later died.

Police said a man was seen fleeing the area in a car.

On Wednesday, police identified the suspect as Ibrahim Mohammed Ibrahim — wanted for first-degree murder — and released his photo.

They said he could be violent and should not be approached. If you see him, call 911.

In 2015, Carrington spent five months in jail in connection with the fatal shooting of Tarik Mohammed, 31, at a downtown restaurant the year before. Carrington was released when the Crown stayed the charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.
